A photographer will be there if you wish to have your photo taken – these will be available to purchase at the end of the evening for £10. Whilst you mingle there will be an opportunity to take part (£2 a go!) in our explosive raffle where the winner will win £100!
At 8:00pm you will be called through to the dining area for the lovely 3 course dinner whilst the band plays in the background. There will also be a table top raffle to win the table centre piece if you wish to take part (again £2 a ticket).
Once the meal is finished the table raffle will be called and the dancing will begin – you can dance the night away until 1:00am. The photographer will be there all evening and all photos will be available on their website – details at the evening.
The bar will be open all evening where you can order your wine for your meal as you arrive, alternatively you can pre order your wine through us giving you more time to socialise when you arrive. I have enclosed the wine list for your information, and if you wish to pre order your wine before the evening please let me know our choice of wine and include a cheque made payable to ‘Bridge House Hotel’. In turn we will make sure your wine is ready on your table when you arrive.
If you would like to book a room the Bridge House are giving us a special price of £75, to include breakfast. All you need to do is ring the hotel 01737 246801 and quote the Snow Ball to take advantage of this offer. Alternatively you can book on line as they have a deal of ROOM ONLY for £63, please note this booking is non refundable and does not include breakfast.
Finally IF snow stops play we will be re scheduling the Ball for later on in the year – we may need to change the name! – this is not going to happen though!
Look forward to welcoming you at the Snow Ball.

Helier’s Quiz Nite.
Date: Saturday, 25th February 2012
Venue: St Marks Church Hall, 8 Alma Road, Reigate, Surrey. RH2 0DA
Time: 7.30pm
Details: Always the most popular event on the social calendar Helier, ably assisted by his better half Ann will once again attempt to frustrate your craniums with his devilishly fiendish teasers.
As with past club quizzes, there will be a fish/chicken/veggie alternative & chips supper, an alcoholic prize for the winning team of brainiacs and a separate, free cloakroom ticket draw each of you will be entered into upon arrival, for an amazing cash prize of £100.00!
As before, I’m pricing tickets at £12.00 per head accordingly.

Open Mic Nite.
Date: Saturday, 28th April 2012
Venue: St Marks Church Hall, 8 Alma Road, Reigate, Surrey. RH2 0DA
Time: 8.00pm
Details: I may be wrong, but on the previous occasions this event has been held, I always got the feeling that having the word ‘talent’ in the title was putting some potential performers off from showcasing their particular skill or ability, feeling perhaps that if they didn’t come up with some polished performance worthy of a West End stage, they shouldn’t put themselves forward.
If you want to warble a tune, dance a jig, tell a joke, recite a poem or witty anecdote, juggle, mime, whistle, act out a skit, do animal impressions (not their scents please!) or even perform somewhat dubious shadow puppetry, this evening will be your chance to get up on a creaky stage and unashamedly blow your own trumpet!
Once again, a fish/chicken/veggie alternative & chips supper will be arranged for you to feast upon and all you need do is pitch up, grab a table and either sit back and rest easy for what should be a couple of hours of fun, or fidget in your chair looking decidedly queasy until you’ve got your ‘limelight moment’ out of the way!
Tickets will be priced at £10.00

Safari Supper.
Date: Saturday, 19th May 2012
Venues/times;
Starter: 7.30pm Address: TBC*
Main: 8.15pm Address: TBC*
Dessert: 9.30pm Address: No.10 Worcester Road, Reigate, RH2 9HW.
Coffees: 10.15pm Address: TBC*
Details: I can’t recall the date of the last Safari Supper, but the Opera Club used to hold this event regularly and they were always a lot of fun.
For those of you new to the delights of such a culinary road-trip, they’re great as not only do you get invited to other member’s houses, but they each lay on a delicious course with which to feed you!
For the amazing & almost scandalously low price of £15.00 per head, you’ll pitch up at the first house and sit down to a delectable starter!
When finished, you then set off & drive onto the next residence for a sumptuous, main course!
From there, its back into the motors again and onto my own modest, compact & bijou abode for your dreamy just - desserts!
Finally……..we all then head to the house of the poor soul who foolishly agreed to host the closing coffee/teas!
*As you can see above, I’m currently looking for volunteers to dress up, open their homes and help host the Starter, the Main course & the coffee/teas. Please let me know if you feel able to help.
**Once I start getting numbers in from you all, I will then contact each host and set the ‘budget’ for each meal.

Karaoke Nite.
Date: Saturday, 23rd June 2012
Venue: St Marks Church Hall, 8 Alma Road, Reigate, Surrey. RH2 0DA
Time: 7.30pm
Details: If we’re truly honest, one of the main reasons we are a part of ESOS is that we love an opportunity to show off and in the process give our lungs a good, public airing!
With this in mind, I thought a healthy dose of Karaoke would help tie you over until our next ‘show-week’.
This event however has a little ‘twist’ to it! (Cue sinister cackle)
As normal, you choose your song from the lists provided but before you get up & screech your little heart out you must first pay £1 to the compere for the privilege.
Thereafter, the compere will turn to the audience and ask if there is/are any person/s willing to double your initial £1 fee, to STOP you from singing your chosen ditty!
Some may distinctly relish the chance to prevent certain individuals from (yet again) hogging the spotlight!
If affirmative, those members each then pay £2 to the compere.
It is then up to you to decide whether you still want to sing the song.
If you’re still keen on getting up there and warbling, you will then have to double the audience’s total cash amount to do so…and so it (potentially) goes on, with no upper limit!
If however you end up not performing, you can’t be stopped for your next turn!
We’ll lay on a fish/chicken/veggie alternative & chips supper midway through the evening and all in all it should prove a fun night, with all profits being ploughed back into club coffers!
Tickets will be priced at £10.
Theatre trips.
I have also been asked by some of you to look into the possibility of arranging regular theatre visits to watch both amateur and professional shows.
This is a great idea, however from an organisational point of view it’s just a tad problematic and so I think the best solution will be for me to alert you to such shows by way of our Club website and then simply allow you to make your own arrangements, via Facebook or some such other media to get together.
I await your e-mails!
